What the sources say
The network lists behind these listings, with the limits each source states.
- Northside Hospital 7 locations
From Northside Hospital's published sample of major plans it accepts; Northside says it does not guarantee participation with all plan products, and the list is for the hospital system, so physician groups affiliated with Northside (including Gwinnett Physician Group) may differ. Exchange plans listed: Ambetter, Oscar, CareSource, Anthem Pathway and UnitedHealthcare. Original Medicare is not named on the list.
- Wellstar Health System 2 locations
From the Wellstar Medical Group (physician) column of Wellstar's combined payor grid dated June 2026. Not in network: Kaiser Permanente (all), Anthem Blue Value and Blue High Performance Network, Cigna LocalPlus, Oscar Guided Care, Ambetter Select Plus, Ambetter Gwinnett Clinic Select and Ambetter Select St. Joseph's/Candler. Anthem Pathway and UnitedHealthcare marketplace plans are in network only for Augusta-area physicians. Alliant excludes Spalding and Sylvan Grove. Medicare is shown through Medicare Supplemental policies secondary to Traditional Medicare; Medicare Advantage plans from Aetna, Anthem, CareSource, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and Wellcare are listed. Commercial and Medicare products vary.

Frequently asked questions
How do I confirm an OB/GYN in Cherokee County is in network with Oscar?
Call the office with the exact name of your Oscar plan and your member ID, and ask whether the specific clinician you want to see participates. Then check the insurer's online provider directory or call the member services number on your card. One insurer can sell employer, marketplace, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans in Georgia, each with its own network, and health system lists often exclude some narrow-network products, so the company name alone is not enough.
What is Georgia Access?
Georgia Access is Georgia's state-based health insurance marketplace for individual and family plans. It replaced HealthCare.gov for Georgians and became the official marketplace on November 1, 2024, starting with 2025 coverage. Marketplace plans often have narrower networks than the same company's employer plans, so give the office the exact plan or network name on your card.
Do I need a referral to see an OB/GYN with Oscar?
Usually not for routine women's health care. Under federal rules, most health plans that ask you to choose a primary care provider cannot require a referral or prior approval to see an in-network OB/GYN. Other specialists, tests or procedures may still need a referral or prior authorization, and some coverage, such as TRICARE Prime, has its own referral rules. Check your plan documents.
What if my OB/GYN does not take Oscar?
Ask your plan whether you have out-of-network benefits and what you would pay. If your plan has no in-network provider with the right training for your needs, ask your plan whether it will approve an out-of-network referral at in-network cost. You can also ask the practice for its self-pay prices, or use this directory to find a nearby practice in your network.
Am I protected from surprise medical bills in Georgia?
Often, yes. Georgia's Surprise Billing Consumer Protection Act, in effect since January 1, 2021, and the federal No Surprises Act protect patients from many surprise out-of-network bills, such as most emergency care and care from an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or surgery center. In those cases you usually owe only your in-network cost-sharing. Which law applies depends on your plan, so ask your insurer about any unexpected bill.
Why is a practice I know not listed for this plan?
This directory lists a practice under Oscar only when a published source shows it participates. Many practices accept plans we could not verify. If you are a practice, claim your free listing to add your plans.
